Dal Kichidi




Ingredients :
·       Rice
·       Moong dal
·       Toor dal
·       Tomato
·       Carrot
·       Green peas (optional)
·       Green chilli
·       Onion
·       Ginger garlic paste
·       Garlic clove
·       Cumin seeds
·       Mustard seeds
·       Bay leaf
·       Clove
·       Cinnamon
·       Cardamom
·       Oil
·       Ghee/Butter
·       Coriander leaf
·       Curry leaf
·       Chilli powder
·       Turmeric
·       Cumin powder
·       Coriander powder
·       Garam masala (optional)
·       Salt


Procedure :
·       Take rice , moong dal and toor dal wash properly and soak it for 10min.
·       Meanwhile chop onion, tomato, carrot, garlic clove and slit green chilli
·       Now take a pressure cooker and place it on a medium flam and add oil, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, bay leaf, clove, cinnamon, cardamom, curry leaf, Green chilli, garlic clove chop and onion into it; Mix well and cook it till onion get translucent as well as golden brown colour.
·       At this point of time add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
·       Add carrots, tomatoes, green peas, chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder and salt cook the mixture well.
·       Now add soaked rice, moong dal and toor dal along with water (water should be 3 time more of the rice and dal’s quantity); add coriander leaf and ghee/butter.
·       Lid on the pressure cooker and cook it till 4-5 whistles and switch off the flame.
Dal kichidi is ready to serve; papad is good accompaniment

Caution : If we take 1 cup of rice, take 3/4th cup of moong dal and 1/4th cup of toor dal.
